ABOUT COOPER GOLDIE

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Cooper Goldie has always had a deep passion for sports, media, storytelling, and wellness. After graduating from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Communication, he set out to merge creativity with business growth, carving a path that blends both entrepreneurship and media innovation.

Over the years, Cooper has developed a career at the intersection of athlete-driven media, original content development, strategic partnerships, and wellness-focused projects, working with world-class athletes, creators, and brands to bring stories to life. At the same time, he gained hands-on experience in e-commerce and consumer brand building, from launching a college startup to contributing to the growth of leading wellness ventures. These experiences gave him a unique understanding of how to scale businesses, connect with audiences, and drive measurable results across both digital and physical marketplaces.

The Players’ Tribune

Cooper began his career at The Players’ Tribune as one of the company’s earliest employees — the 8th overall hire. In the early days, he learned by listening, working hard, and growing alongside the athletes and storytellers who shaped the platform. Over time, he advanced to become Manager, Athlete Marketing & Strategic Partnerships, playing a pivotal role in scaling the company’s reach and influence.

During his time there, Cooper helped build the athlete marketing department from the ground up, cultivated relationships with a wide range of athletes across sports, and secured strategic partnerships with major brands and organizations. He also contributed to the production of award-nominated content and athlete-led campaigns, helping to establish The Players’ Tribune as a trailblazer in athlete-driven storytelling and a respected leader in the sports media landscape.

Blindsided Podcast (Mental Health, Sports & Life)

As Executive Producer & Talent Booker for the Blindsided Podcast, The Players’ Tribune’s first mental health–focused series, Cooper spearheaded production, marketing, and guest booking. The show grew to over 1 million listeners, earned a Webby Award nomination, and ran for two successful seasons. He also secured The Wounded Warrior Project as the title sponsor in a six-figure deal that made the show profitable, while facilitating conversations with athletes and mental health professionals that helped break stigma and encourage open dialogue.

Wicked Mind Podcast (Hosted by Dr. Diane McIntosh)

Cooper later partnered with Dr. Diane McIntosh to produce the Wicked Mind Podcast, leading strategy, guest booking, and marketing campaigns. He oversaw production with a six-figure budget, managed relationships with key stakeholders, and delivered marketing campaigns that drove a 75% increase in engagement and significantly expanded the show’s digital footprint.

Entrepreneurial Roots

Cooper’s entrepreneurial journey began in college with NEwhere, a startup he co-founded with a small group of peers. What started out as a fun idea among friends quickly grew into a real business — one that tapped into a rising consumer trend and became a successful venture. Through NEwhere, he gained invaluable experience in product development, brand positioning, and navigating consumer demand, all while learning firsthand what it takes to build and scale a company from the ground up.

Building on that foundation, Cooper later became involved in wellness and consumer ventures such as CBDfx and CBD.co. These experiences exposed him to the fast-evolving world of e-commerce and digital consumer engagement, where he saw firsthand how to build customer trust, scale wellness brands, and drive growth in competitive markets. Together, these early ventures gave him a unique perspective on both entrepreneurship and brand building, complementing his work in media and partnerships.

The Players’ Tribune

Joining the company in 2014 as the company’s 8th hire, Cooper played a pivotal role in shaping the future of athlete-driven storytelling. As one of the initial hires, Cooper helped scale the athlete marketing department, and athlete partnerships, building strategic alliances, and producing award-nominated content. These efforts were integral in positioning The Players' Tribune as a trailblazer in the sports media landscape, where athlete-driven content became a powerful force.

BLINDSIDED

MENTAL HEALTH, SPORTS & LIFE

Plan your work and work your plan.

For many athletes, words like these are scripture — permanent signposts lining the long road to success. The very act of pursuing a career in sports often gives a sense of control, a sense of safety. Just stick to the plan. Good things will follow.

That is until life happens. The kind of life that happens while you’re making other plans. Devastating setbacks. Dark thoughts. Debilitating breakdowns. Mental health conditions that force an athlete to ditch their well-laid plans and ask,

“What’s my next play?”

Hosted by former National Hockey League goaltender Corey Hirsch and Psychiatrist Dr. Diane McIntosh, Blindsided allows professional athletes to open up about mental health. The podcast lets listeners hear moments when mental health became the athlete’s most important focus.

Blindsided then dives in deeper. It gets clinical. And it allows listeners to leave with a deeper understanding of mental health conditions that all people face. It then shows how athletes, in particular, face them down.
